17. Goals of the Curriculum  – To provide background for interdisciplinary analysis of international political processes and foreign policy from the perspectives of political Science, history, economics and international law;

 – To ensure understanding of Estonian foreign and security policy;

 – To develop skills of information collection, analysis and interpretation in the elected professional sphere;

 – To obtain language proficiencies needed for professional communication;

 – To acquire skills of independent work and analysis as well as ability to apply them in state and municipal authorities, private sector on the professional level of referent, assistant to chief on international affairs, project manager of international projects.

 – To create a basis for furthering education on the master level.


18. Outcomes of study A student, who successfully graduated the program, is expected to:

·         Understand and operate with the main terms and terminology in general and specialized subjects;

·         Know and able to use the main methods and techniques of the applied research;

·         Be aware of contemporary professional literature, operate with internet-sources and data-bases, necessary from professional work;

·         Have obtained the skills of monitoring and analysis of periodicals;

·         Know history and the main directions of contemporary foreign and domestic politics of Estonia, and is able to system analysis of contemporary political processes;

·         Be aware of the protocol, etiquette and office work fundamentals, as well as legal background of consular service;

·         Have developed communication skills as well as can operate with information and communication technologies;

·         Have received experience of work in multicultural and multilinguistic environment;

·         Have sufficient language proficiencies and knowledge of professional terminology in foreign languages;

·         Be able to actively participate in civil society, realizing its own role and responsibility there;

·         Be ready for further individual professional development, and have received a background for furthering education on the master level.
